Service · Thermal insulation
Thermal performance, specified and installed to suit the project.
Reliable Partners. Proven systems. Built on trust.
R-Value Insulation Co is an Auckland-based thermal insulation contractor and Pink Batts installer for commercial main builders across NZ. H1 is the line every commercial job is now measured against. The right thermal spec isn't just about hitting an R-value on paper. It's about an assembly that actually performs in service, with the vapour control to match.
We install across the four major thermal product lines stocked in New Zealand and know which product belongs where. That knowledge is the difference between a quote that wins on price and an install that survives the inspection.

Common questions
Questions builders and specifiers ask us.
Why is the construction R-value lower than the product R-value?
The product R-value is the batt on its own. The construction (or "as-built") R-value accounts for thermal bridging through the timber or steel framing, gaps and compression, so the assembly always performs below the bare product figure. H1 is assessed on the construction R-value, which is why correct product selection and install matter.
Is a higher R-value better?
Yes. R-value measures resistance to heat flow, so a higher number means better thermal performance. The right target depends on the element (wall, ceiling, floor) and the H1 climate zone the building sits in.
Are you a Pink Batts installer?
Yes. We are a commercial Pink Batts installer and also install Earthwool, Autex GreenStuf and Kingspan rigid board, choosing the product to suit the assembly rather than defaulting to one brand.
What is H1 and which climate zone applies to my project?
H1 is the energy-efficiency clause of the NZ Building Code. New Zealand is split into six climate zones, each with its own minimum construction R-values; the colder the zone, the higher the requirement. We install to the R-values your design and zone require and document them for sign-off.
